I have been using Streamwriter for a few weeks now and I have found that it does indeed work. You can pick one or more stations and either start them up recording or set a schedule for when you want them to start and stop recording. As the stream comes in, Streamwriter will break the songs up and add them to a folder with a file name that describes the song. So after and hour or two of recording, you might have 10 or 20 mp3 files in the folders created for each of the streams that you started. The stream is also kept as a single large mp3 file with all of the songs that were separated out. I have found so far that often it does not break down the large file to the individual songs. If the stream does not include the information necessary to break it down then that particular stream of station should not be included in the list of available stations. The list of stations is broken down by genre but it is often impossible to tell what kind of songs you will be getting.
Pros: Makes downloading songs fairly easy. Allows for selecting songs by genre. Allows for scheduling when the downloads will take place. You can download multiple streams at once.
Cons: The stations are not well described. There is little help or user guide information. You cannot download by artist.
